Rarity Pointe - Crown jewel communities offers exquisite luxuries

One of the best things about living in a home at Rarity Pointe, overlooking beautiful Lake Tellico, is the convenience. The upscale lakefront community is close to Knoxville and Maryville, offering the exquisite luxuries of a master-planned amenities community by the water.

“There are no other gated communities in East Tennessee with the amenities of Rarity Pointe and such a close proximity to metropolitan areas,” says Fred McArthur, executive vice president of Rarity Communities.

Rarity Pointe is only nine miles from Farragut and West Knoxville, seven miles from Interstate 75, 11 miles from Maryville and 18 miles from McGhee Tyson Airport. Fifty new waterfront, water-view and golf-course home sites will be offered at the community’s Priority Selection Sales Event planned for Oct. 27 and 28.

“We continue to hear from builders and visitors to the community that this is absolutely the most gorgeous piece of property they have ever seen,” McArthur continues. “It overlooks a broad expanse of water at the north end of Lake Tellico, which is perfect for sailing and kayaking. Home sites enjoy panoramic views of both the Smoky Mountains and Cumberland Plateau, and those views are spectacular. It has the most natural beauty of any East Tennessee property ever.”

The Tellico Reservoir stretches 33 miles along the Little Tennessee River into the mountains of East Tennessee. With 357 miles of shoreline and 15,560 acres of water surface, it offers plenty of space for recreational activities. Connected to Fort Loudoun Lake, Tellico is linked to the Tennessee River system, which boaters can travel on to the University of Tennessee football games, into the mountains, or they can use it to travel all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.

Tellico Dam was completed in 1979, creating a lake with a capacity of 120,000 acre-feet. The dam is capable of producing 140,000 kilowatts of electricity.

In addition to recreational activities, such as fishing, boating, wakeboarding and camping, Lake Tellico is home to several historic locations. These include a reconstruction of Fort Loudoun, built by the British during the French and Indian War, and the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum, honoring the Cherokee genius who invented the Cherokee alphabet.

Developer Mike Ross laid out each home site at Rarity Point to maximize the property’s spectacular views.

“Seventy-eight million ‘baby boomers’ are now scrambling to find their home sites for retirement and for investment, and many are finding Rarity Pointe is the perfect place to call home,” says Doug Smith, vice president of sales for Rarity Pointe. “In addition, we are beginning to experience the largest transfer of wealth in our nation’s history, from one generation to the next, almost $20 trillion, and many are investing in waterfront real estate (like Rarity Pointe) rather than the stock market.”

The gated community’s amenities include a spectacular golf course, Tennessee’s only Audubon Signature Golf Course, a lush 18-hole, par-72 layout designed by Bob Cupp. A senior designer for Jack Nicklaus for 14 years, Cupp has been involved in the development of more than 130 courses worldwide since 1968. He was named Golf World’s Designer of the Year in 1992, and was hired to redesign the greens at Augusta National. The golf course will be open for limited play this fall.

The Rarity Pointe Yacht Club and Marina will be world-class, Smith says, featuring 355 boat slips, a restaurant and full-service marina. Boat slips will be available by the end of this year, some capable of handling boats up to 92 feet in length.

Other amenities include miles of walking trails along the eastern shore of the lake; a clubhouse with fine dining, meeting and banquet facilities and guest accommodations; a wellness center with state-of-the-art equipment; a spa; an indoor pool; and lighted tennis courts.

With 10 communities throughout East Tennessee, Rarity Communities has become known for developing unique pieces of property. Rarity Pointe claims the distinction of being the crown jewel of Rarity Communities and their first master-planned amenities community, Smith says, describing a lakeside setting with “supreme, amenities that are world-class, and a lifestyle that is easy and rewarding, for those who desire and deserve the best.”

Smith says the masterfully designed home sites are crafted for those who seek the security and privacy of a gated community, along with breathtaking beauty.

“Our Priority Selection Sales Event at the end of October is the opportunity of a lifetime to get in on the ground floor of this exclusive, resort-type community, the only one of its kind in East Tennessee,” he says. “We have just started taking reservations for some of the best home sites in the community.”
