Waterfront Living - Fort Loudon Lake
Real Estate Guide
Tailor made lakeside living at Stone Harbor

"We looked at what everyone wanted and instead of offering them as extras, we're making them standard," says Mark White, owner and developer of Stone Harbor.
That means 9-foot ceilings, cherry or maple-finish cabinetry, stainless-steel appliances, hardwood staircases, DSL lines and smart wiring. Added to that are the tantalizing views of Fort Loudoun Dam.
For White, a veteran of more than 500 homes, this project is different. "It is one of the finest pieces of property that we've ever developed," he says. "The yards are flat. People have backyards and the lots are huge; every lot here is 100 by 150."
This broadens the scope for sprawling ranchers with downstairs master bedrooms and, of course, plenty of room for an in-ground pool.
"I can take just about any size custom home people want. We're not doing just our own plans; we're doing custom homes," White adds. "If it fits into the scheme of our subdivision – and I haven't had to turn anyone down yet – they can build it."
Brad and Amy Phillips are set to move into their custom home in four to six weeks. They brought their own plans for a spacious four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom house. "Mark White was more than eager to work with us on the special aspects of our design," says Brad Phillips. "They were very accommodating to what lots would offer the best views in the long haul, even with the other houses still coming in, because that, of course, affects your views down the road."
More than 18 percent of the lots have already sold. Lots range in price from $60,000 to $150,000 and custom homes range from $298,000 to $500,000.
To keep the quality of the homes consistent, White employs the same trades people he has counted on for years.
So far, no two homes look the same. They all have unique layouts and distinctive architectural features, such as dormer windows, porch columns and brick exteriors in different hues.
Not only did the Phillipses feel that the flat lots would be a “dream” to maintain, but they were also captivated by the views and location. "It is convenient, and with all of the beautiful views it was an easy decision," Phillips explains. "We feel like we've got our perfect oasis in the country."
