Ultima creates mountaintop living in Western North Carolina

Robert Ullmann and Hardy Smith, long-time collaborators in Atlanta real estate, unexpectedly found their passion when they discovered the natural beauty and restorative lifestyle of Western North Carolina. They started with their own vacation homes on Fontana Lake.

“Before long, we realized that the focus of our energies and dreams had shifted from the city to the mountains,” Ullmann says.

Their company, Ultima Carolina, now creates full-amenity, environmentally sensitive communities that are built in harmony with nature, Ullmann says.

Homesites are currently available in four Ultima Carolina communities throughout Western North Carolina. Each community offers unbroken, high-elevation views of nearby national parks and forests. Each community is also within 10 minutes of major highways, with a private gated entrance, private paved roads, underground utilities, hiking trails, common areas and unique amenities at each location.

“Our amenities are carefully planned to help folks relax,” says Ullmann.

His partner notes that the company has a long track record for creating popular upscale communities. “Our 30-year reputation for attention to detail should ease buyers’ minds,” he says. “We want to build enduring legacies and enduring trust.”

Fontana Trace offers one-and-a-half to five-acre homesites with private protected views of Fontana Lake and Great Smoky Mountains National Park and marina access to Fontana Lake. Located just outside Bryson City, N.C., these homesites range from the $100,000s to the $600,000s.

Wildflower offers one-to-five-acre ridge-top homesites spread across 2,200+ acres. Just five minutes from Franklin and one hour from Asheville, this community’s amenities include a clubhouse, pools, tennis courts, an equestrian center, recreation areas, and hiking and equestrian trails. Homesite prices range from the $100,000s to the $300,000s.

Avalon at Junaluska Highlands offers one-to-four-acre homesites situated high above the waters of Lake Junaluska. Minutes away from Waynesville, the community is also within a 10-minute drive to five golf courses and a 30-minute drive to Asheville. Homesite prices range from the $100,000s to the $400,000s.

Black Bear Falls is in Cherokee, between the mountain towns of Bryson City and Sylva in a ridge-land forest well over a half-mile high. Every homesite offers unbroken mountain views that stretch all the way to Tennessee.

Homesite prices range from the $100,000s to the $300,000s, and sizes from one and a half to five acres.
